Selection Guide for Steel Dry Containers
Steel Dry Containers come in three standard sizes to maximize their international transportation interoperability. Fortunately, users find these sizes very effective not only for shipping, but for storage uses as well. Choosing the right container size depends primarily on the volume of material to be held and on the available, or desired, ceiling height.
Overall Size: 40′L x 8′W x 9’-6″H (12.19m x 2.44m x 2.89m)
Interior Height: 8’-10”
Capacity: 2,698 cu.ft (76.4 cu.m)
Our high cube storage units feature extra ceiling height for maximum interior cube capacity and for holding taller items upright. This unit is suitable for all uses.
Overall Size: 40′L x 8′W x 8’-6″H (12.19m x 2.44m x 2.59m)
Interior Height: 7’-10”
Capacity: 2,391 cu.ft (67.7 cu.m)
Select a 40′ standard container if you don’t require the additional capacity or ceiling height of a 40′ high cube unit.
Overall Size: 20′ x 8′ x 8’-6″ (6.06m x 2.44m x 2.59m)
Interior Height: 7’-10”
Capacity: 1,172 cu.ft (33.2 cu.m)
If your volume does not require a 40′ unit, or that length exceeds your available site space, you can select an otherwise comparable but smaller 20′ unit.
